On the second day of our 12-day Manaslu Circuit Budget Trekking, we start our hike from Machha Khola and start hiking along the Budhi-Gandaki River, crossing Tharo Khola before reaching Khoral Besi.
The trail passes by Tatopani, A natural hot spring where trekkers often take a short break to relax. After crossing the river multiple times and suspension bridges, you ascend towards Dobhan and later Yaru Bagar. The final stretch of the track includes a steep climb to jog at a picturesque village with stone-paved streets and a checkpoint where permits are verified.
Day 3 : Trek from Jagat (1,300m/4,625 ft) to Deng (1,860m/6,102 ft)
Leaving Jagat, You follow a rocky path uphill, passing through lush forests and streams. Cross the Budhi-Gandaki several times, Walking through villages like Salleri and Philim, where you will notice a significant shift In culture as Tibetan influence becomes more prominent. The trail continues, through dense forest and terraced fields before reaching Deng, a small village surrounded by towering cliffs.
Day 4 : Trek from Deng (1,860m/6,102 ft) to Namrung (2,630m/8,628 ft)
The trek From Deng to Namrung features a mix of ascents and descents Through forested trails and narrow gorges. As you gain elevation, You'll pass several traditional Tibetan villages like Bihi Phedi and Ghap. Along the way, you’ll get a spectacular view of Shringi Himal and Ganesh Himal. After a steep ascent, You reach Namrung, A beautiful settlement known for its Tibetan-style houses and monasteries.
Day 5 : Trek from Namrung (2,630m/8,628 ft) to Samagaon (3,500m/11,482 ft)

Day 6 : Acclimatization at Samagaon (3,500m/11,482 ft )
Since we gained elevation the previous day we’ll be acclimatizing to make ourselves well-adapted to the surroundings and to do so we’ll spend the day in Samagaon, with optional hikes to Birendra Lake (3,690m) or Pungyen Gompa (4000m).
These short side trips provide excellent views of Manaslu and help your body acclimatize. You can also explore the village and interact with the locals, experiencing their Tibetan-influenced culture and traditions.
Day 7 : Trek from Samagaon ( 3,500m/11,482 ft) to Larkya Bazaar (4090m)
Leaving Samagaon, you ascend gradually towards Samdo, a high-altitude village offering stunning views of the surrounding peaks. Since we start today's trek after breakfast in Samagaon we directly reach Larkya Bazaar for lunch.
The hike is about 5 hours and comparatively easier than other days.
Upon reaching Larkya Bazaar we check in at our teahouse and have lunch. The rest of the day we will spend relaxing and interacting with the locals.
Day 8 : Trek from Larkya Bazaar (4090m) to Dharamshala (4450m/14596 ft)
Day 8 of our budget Manaslu trek is an easy hike from Larkya Bazaar to Dharamshala. After we leave our teahouse we head upwards, the trail then leads us to Dharmasala (Larky la basecamp), where you will have lunch and relax for the day.
Tonight we will be staying in a a tea house or tented camp, depending upon the availability at that moment.
As you gain altitude, the air becomes thinner, making a slow and steady pace essential for the trek.
Day 9 : Trek from Dharamshala to Bimtang (3,720m/12,204 ft)
This is the most challenging part of the trek. You start early, trekking through rocky and icy terrain to reach Larkya la Pass (5,106m). From the top, you get breathtaking views of Himlung Himal, Kang Guru, and Annapurna II. After celebrating your achievement, you begin a long descent to Bimtang (3,720m), passing glacial moraines and barren landscapes.
Day 10 : Trek from Bimtang (3,720m/12,204ft) to Goa (2,300m/7,545 ft)
Descending from Bimtang, the trail takes you through beautiful rhododendron forests and river valleys. You’ll cross over suspension bridges over Dudh Khola and pass settlements like Kharche before reaching.
Tilije(2,300m), is a large Gurung village with comfortable accommodations.
Day 11 : Trek from Goa to Dharapani (1,860m/6,102 ft)
A short trek leads to Dharapani, where you board a jeep for the long drive back to Kathmandu via Besisahar. You can enjoy the final views of the Himalayas before returning to the Bustling city.
Day 12 : Drive back from Dharapani to Kathmandu (1,400m/4,593 ft)
This is the last day of our trek where we will bid farewell to the mountains and head back to Kathmandu by a public bus.
The bus ride back is about 7-8 hours long and our trek ends once we reach back to Kathmandu.
