The best times for the Manaslu Circuit Trek are Spring (March, April, May) and Autumn (September, October, November). However, this may not apply to all, hop into the details to find out which time of the year would be best for your visit.

Planning for the Manaslu Circuit and wondering what would be the best time for the Trek?

Choosing a perfect time is essential for a beautiful trekking journey, in this article, we have explained the Manaslu Circuit Trek in all four seasons including the months, so that you can choose what time of the year will be suitable for you.

Manaslu Circuit is one of the best off-the-beaten treks in Nepal which covers most of the best trekking places in the Manaslu region. This trek is gaining more popularity these days as the tea houses and proper facilities are readily being established on the trail.

Similar to Everest and Annapurna, the Manaslu trek is a high-altitude trek, and the weather can be highly unpredictable even in the best seasons. So, it would help if you were prepared for the possible outcomes.

When is the best time to trek Manaslu?

The best time to trek the Manaslu Circuit is spring (March, April, May) and autumn (September, October, and November). Every year these six months are considered to be the best months for trekking. However, you still can trek in the off seasons (monsoon and winter). Trekking in the off-season brings its specific advantages so some may prefer trekking the Manaslu Circuit in Monsoon and Winter as well.

Manaslu Circuit Trek in Spring (March to May)

Spring is a season of renewal and transformation in the Manaslu region. During this period (March, April, May) the trekking trails of Manaslu come alive with vibrant colors as rhododendron flowers bloom, creating a picturesque landscape. It is the first tourist season of the year in Nepal.

Just after the winter ends spring starts resulting in gradually increasing temperatures, however, you still feel cold in the Manaslu circuit. The weather is mild and enjoyable, with daytime temperatures ranging from 10 to 20 degrees Celsius (50 to 68 degrees Fahrenheit).

Pros:

  • Blooming Landscapes: Spring is a feast for the eyes with clear skies, and various flowers in full bloom, adding a surreal touch to the trek.
  • Moderate Temperatures: The weather is comfortable for trekking, making it an ideal time for those who prefer milder temperatures.
  • Ideal Trekking Conditions: The trails are relatively dry, providing excellent trekking conditions.

Cons:

  • Crowded Trails: Spring is a popular time for trekking, resulting in more fellow trekkers on the trails.
  • Teahouse Availability: Due to high demand, teahouses might be crowded, and advance reservations are advisable.

Since the weather is just starting to get warmer you may still feel a little cold, especially in the shadow regions, so, a good quality jacket and trousers is a must.
